There are two units of study, Economics and Personal Budgeting and Civics and Citizenship.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>In the Economics and Personal Budgeting unit, students will study:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introductory macroeconomics, including: markets forces, the economic problem and types of resources<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal financial management, including: taxes and taxation, superannuation, budgeting and developing short, medium and long term financial goals.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreign trade, including looking at Australia\u2019s exports and imports.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>In the Civics and Citizenship unit, students will study:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia\u2019s political system, including its history and development.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Citizen\u2019s rights and responsibilities in their community and in an increasingly interconnected world.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia\u2019s legal and justice systems with a focus on the criminal justice system and young people and the law.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
