Length: <\/strong>One Semester<\/p>\n

This course aims to give students the opportunity to explore Australia\u2019s role and responsibilities in global politics and the global economy. Students will develop the understanding and skills that will enable them to become informed and active global citizens. Students will develop the understanding and skills that will enable them to become informed and active global citizens. There are three topics of study in this course.<\/p>\n

In Globalisation, students study the national and international nature of decisions and how they impact both physically and financially on Australians and on the environment.<\/p>\n

In the Civics and Law unit, students may study the history of law and different systems of government around the world, Australia\u2019s legal obligations such as its role in the United Nations and\/or the global rights of children.<\/p>\n

In the Economics and Business unit, students may study the different economic systems around the world, Australia\u2019s trade agreements, the stock exchange and\/or sustainable economic development in a globalising world.<\/p>\n

Assessment: <\/strong>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes. Students understanding and skills will be assessed in a variety of tasks that may include:<\/p>\n
