The certificate is based on two stages of achievement: Stage 1 (Year 11) and Stage 2 (Year 12). The majority of students in South Australia will start their journey with Exploring Identities and Futures in Year10, their chosen Stage1 subjects in Year 11 (including the compulsory Maths and English choices), and their chosen Stage2 subjects in Year 12 plus Activating Identities and Futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\"\n    width=\"560\"\n    height=\"315\"\n    src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xA1Jsph8C9Y?si=zTN-Np5DRP96hx_R\"\n    style=\"display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;\"\n    title=\"YouTube video player\"\n    frameborder=\"0\"\n    allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\"\n    referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"\n    allowfullscreen>\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the SACE students will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>receive credits for many different forms of education and training (such as academic subjects, learning a trade, TAFE, vocational training and community service) provided they are recognised by the SACE Board<\/li><li>be able to return to their studies at any time in the future to complete the SACE without losing credit for work already undertaken<\/li><li>receive A+ to E- grades in every Stage 1 and Stage 2 SACE subject<\/li><li>be expected to gain and demonstrate essential skills and knowledge for their future, focusing on Literacy, Numeracy,&nbsp;Information and Communication Technology,&nbsp;Critical and Creative Thinking,&nbsp;Personal and Social,&nbsp;Ethical Understanding,&nbsp;Intercultural Understanding<\/li><li>have 30 per cent of their work in every Stage 2 subject externally assessed. This will be done in various ways, including exams, practical performances and presentations<\/li><li>have moderators check the school-assessed parts of Stage 2 subjects to ensure consistent grading across the state.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SACE-REQUIREMENTS-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7543\" width=\"598\" height=\"555\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-color has-normal-font-size\" style=\"color:#002858\"><strong>THE REQUIREMENTS TO ACHIEVE THE SACE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To gain the certificate, students must earn 200 credits. 10 credits are equivalent to one semester in a particular subject or course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some elements of the SACE are compulsory. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Exploring Identities and Futures (at Stage 1) (undertaken in Year 10), worth 10 credits<\/li><li>at least 20 credits towards Literacy from a range of English\/English as a Second Language studies at Stage 1<\/li><li>at least 10 credits towards Numeracy from a range of Mathematics Studies at Stage 1<\/li><li>Activating and Futures at Stage 2, (undertaken in Year 11) worth 10 credits<\/li><li>completion of at least 60 additional credits in Stage 2 subjects and courses.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The importance of the compulsory elements is reflected in the requirement that students must achieve a C grade or better in these subjects to complete the SACE successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All SACE courses are assessed against Performance Standards.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For further information about SACE subjects, please visit the SACE website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sace.sa.edu.au\"><strong>www.sace.sa.edu.au<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sace.sa.edu.au\/documents\/652891\/41ad8453-be9a-726e-f5ab-c156044f6691\">Information for Parents can be found here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT IS THE SACE?
