Throughout this subject, students will develop skills in design process thinking as well as use a range of hand tools and fixed machinery to develop products and design solutions. They will also be introduced to rapid prototyping technology (such as 3D printing or laser cutting). Possible projects may include:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wooden Toy or Puzzle<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wooden Serving Board<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Light Box using a combination of materials such as wood, acrylic and electronics<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Folded sheet metal products<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic coding applications and software<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic CAD applications (Onshape\/laser cutting\/Adobe Illustrator\/3D printing)<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Assessment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum.
