{"id":1736,"date":"2018-07-31T12:21:28","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T02:51:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/?page_id=1736"},"modified":"2025-07-20T12:53:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T03:23:24","slug":"stage-1-sace-pathways-package","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-sace-pathways-package\/","title":{"rendered":"Stage 1 SACE Pathways Package"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Level: <\/strong>Stage 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>SACE Credits: <\/strong>110 credits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Length:<\/strong> Full Year<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommended background: <\/strong>VET course\/Identified Career Pathway or Individual Learning Requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 Integrated\u00a0 Package\u00a0 is\u00a0 designed\u00a0 to\u00a0 meet\u00a0 the\u00a0 needs\u00a0 of\u00a0 students\u00a0 requiring\u00a0\u00a0 greater\u00a0 flexibility\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 order\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 complete\u00a0\u00a0 their\u00a0\u00a0 SACE.\u00a0\u00a0 It incorporates SACE Stage 1 Subjects\u00a0 Workplace Practices, Community Studies,\u00a0\u00a0 Essential\u00a0\u00a0 Mathematics\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 Essential\u00a0\u00a0 English,\u00a0\u00a0 which\u00a0\u00a0 are delivered to ensure maximum flexibility whilst engaging the students in\u00a0 work\u00a0 that\u00a0 is\u00a0 relevant\u00a0 to\u00a0 their\u00a0 individual\u00a0 circumstances.\u00a0 Workplace Practices\u00a0 and\u00a0 Community\u00a0 Studies\u00a0 students\u00a0 will\u00a0 learn\u00a0 a\u00a0 range\u00a0 of concepts\u00a0 and\u00a0 skills\u00a0 to\u00a0 support\u00a0 their\u00a0 career\u00a0 aspirations,\u00a0 supporting them to achieve success.<\/p>\n<p>Students\u00a0\u00a0 undertaking\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 SACE Pathways\u00a0\u00a0 Package\u00a0\u00a0 will\u00a0\u00a0 be\u00a0\u00a0 working\u00a0\u00a0 toward SACE completion and entry into the TAFE sector, but will not be\u00a0 working\u00a0 toward\u00a0 an\u00a0 ATAR\u00a0 (Australian\u00a0 Tertiary\u00a0 Entrance\u00a0 Rank)\u00a0 for University entrance.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 Integrated\u00a0 Package\u00a0 includes\u00a0 110\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 200\u00a0 credits\u00a0 required\u00a0 to complete SACE and includes the required compulsory subjects. These include\u00a0 English\u00a0 for\u00a0 a\u00a0 full\u00a0 year,\u00a0 Mathematics\u00a0 for\u00a0 one\u00a0 semester\u00a0 and\u00a0 Research Project.<\/p>\n<p>Additional credits will come from a range of flexible options. These could be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Australian School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (ASBA)<\/li>\n<li>A VET Course at Certificate I or higher<\/li>\n<li>One other SACE Stage 1 subject (student choice)<\/li>\n<li>Community Learning<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students undertaking any of the above will automatically be offered this pathway through Course Counselling. Similarly, students requiring extra assistance or support to complete the SACE will be able to use this flexible package to assist them to achieve success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Workplace Practices Stage 1:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>School-based\u00a0 Assessment:\u00a0 40%<\/li>\n<li>Folio:\u00a0 30%<\/li>\n<li>Vocational\u00a0 Learning:\u00a0 30%<\/li>\n<li>Reflection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Community Studies Stage 1:<\/p>\n<p>Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through four types of assessment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Contract of Work<\/li>\n<li>Folio<\/li>\n<li>Community Activity<\/li>\n<li>Reflection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Community\u00a0 Studies\u00a0 is\u00a0 most\u00a0 successful\u00a0 when\u00a0 students\u00a0 can\u00a0 tap\u00a0 into\u00a0 an\u00a0extra-curricular activity\/interest\/commitment as a basis.<\/p>\n<p>Essential English Stage 1: School-based Assessment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessment type 1: Responding to texts<\/li>\n<li>Assessment type 2: Creating texts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Essential Mathematics Stage 1: School-based Assessment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>65% Assessment type 1: Skills and Applications Tasks<\/li>\n<li>35% Assessment type 2: Folio of Investigative Assessments<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students must complete the compulsory subjects with a C grade or better to achieve their SACE.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Level: Stage 1 SACE Credits: 110 credits Length: Full Year Recommended background: VET course\/Identified Career Pathway or Individual Learning Requirements.
