They will communicate their designs through technical drawings using traditional methods, as well as Computer Aided Design drawing software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will develop skills in the safe and accurate use of portable and fixed power machinery including the Radial Arm Saw and Circular Saw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Furniture Design &amp; Construction B:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furniture Design &amp; Construction B will explore and understand the application of various framing techniques using traditional joints. Students will use solid timber to construct a framed item of furniture of their own design. This could be a hall table, chair, stool etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specialised Skills Task: 40%<br>Design Process Solution 60%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Part 1 Investigation and Analysis and Design Development<\/li><li>Part 2 Solution Realisation and Evaluation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special Requirements: <\/strong>This course may be offered after school from 3.30 \u2013 6.30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Subject fees:<\/strong> $50.
