{"id":2168,"date":"2019-07-03T11:36:01","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T02:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/?page_id=2168"},"modified":"2025-07-20T14:23:43","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T04:53:43","slug":"stage-2-community-studies-b","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-community-studies-b\/","title":{"rendered":"Stage 2 Community Connections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Level: <\/strong>Stage 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>SACE CREDITS:\u00a0<\/strong>20 Credits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Length:<\/strong>\u00a02 Semesters<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>Community Connections contributes to the completion of your SACE, but is not a Tertiary Admission Subject and does not contribute to your ATAR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Community\u00a0Connections is\u00a0completed within another SACE Stage 2 subject.<\/span> Community Connections provides the opportunity for success for student who has a an interest in a SACE Stage 2 subject, but who choose to demonstrate their learning in an individually differentiated assessment plan.<\/p>\n<p>Students may enrol in Community Connections from the beginning of the year, or transfer their enrolment from the selected Stage 2 subject to Community Connections part way through the year. In either scenario, their learning is based on some of the learning requirements for the selected Stage 2 subject<\/p>\n<p>Students may complete up to 60 credits of Community Connections in the following areas;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Humanities and Social Sciences Connections<\/li>\n<li>STEM Connections<\/li>\n<li>Practical Connections<\/li>\n<li>Interdisciplinary Connections<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through three types of assessment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Folio (50%), which includes minimum of 4 assessment tasks. Students collect evidence that shows specific learning requirements from the selected Stage 2 subject, and addresses their development of knowledge, concepts and skills related to the selected SACE Stage 2 subject.<\/li>\n<li>Reflection (20%) to a maximum of 1500 words or equivalent, on the development of knowledge, concepts, skills and new understandings related to the selected Stage 2 subject.<\/li>\n<li>Community Application Activity (30% externally assessed), this report and presentation of evidence should be a maximum of 1500 words if written or equivalent.
