Through performance, composition, research, and experimentation, you\u2019ll develop your musical identity and discover new ways of expressing ideas through sound. Students will choose a specialisation in either<strong> Performance <\/strong>or<strong> Music Production\/Composition<\/strong> (this includes computer based composition\/singer songwriters\/sound engineering) and throughout the year, learn to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Explore areas of music that match your passions and interests<\/li><li>Develop your skills through hands-on projects, performances, and creative works<\/li><li>Use technology and traditional tools to shape your sound<\/li><li>Reflect on your process and growth as a musician<\/li><li>Investigate how music works across different cultures, genres, or time periods<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This subject can be taken in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-solo-performance\/\">Stage 2 Music Solo Performance<\/a> and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-ensemble-performance\/\">Stage 2 Music Ensemble Performance<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pathways:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This subject prepares students for further study in music at a tertiary level and supports career pathways in performance, composition, music education, and the broader creative arts industry. <a href=\"https:\/\/able.adelaide.edu.au\/music\/study#our-study-areas\">Study | Elder Conservatorium of Music | University of Adelaide<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Students provide evidence of their learning through three assessments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>School Based Assessments<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT 1:&nbsp; Musical Literacy: Concert Review, Comparative Analysis, Composition (30%)<br>AT 2:&nbsp; Explorations: Performance\/Composition and Discussion (40%)<\/li><li><strong>External Assessment<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT 3:&nbsp; Creative Connections: Performance\/Composition and Evaluation (30%)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
