Students read, view and respond to a range of texts including novels, short stories, non-fiction and media texts. Students participate in a range of individual and group oral language tasks and analyse the performance of themselves and others. Students create a wide variety of texts and show an understanding of the writing process, the purpose of writing and the audience. Expository, analytical, journalistic and creative texts are emphasised.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
