The practical activities include rock climbing, aquatics and a bushwalking camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students will also focus on learning outdoor living skills, safe use of lightweight stoves, tent pitching, menu planning and navigation. The underlying theme throughout the course will be on environmental care and conservation issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students will demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment pieces:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">practical activities (including three-day camp) 70%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">folio of theory pieces (including a reflective camp journal) 30%.<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Special Requirements: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This course requires a high degree of personal commitment. Students choosing this course must be prepared to fully commit themselves to the various activities and journeys involved in Outdoor Education. They will be accountable to themselves and to the class for appropriate participation and completion of these activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No refunds will be given if a student withdraws from the course or does not attend a camp or excursion.
