Students study an overview of this period which may include key events during the interwar years, the causes and impacts of World War Two, and the transformation of Australia to a modern nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may complete a combination of depth studies from the list below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>World War Two that may explore its causes, nature and consequences in Australia and the world.<\/li><li>Building Modern Australia<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong> Student performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes. Student understanding and skills will be assessed in a variety of tasks that may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Essay \/ reports on investigations exploring the causes of World War Two and its impacts.<\/li><li>A multimodal presentation about the impacts and involvements of Australian soldiers in World War Two<\/li><li>A report and t-shirt design which reflects the important messages in the respects of First Nation Australians or Women or Migrants.<\/li><li>End of semester exam<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leads to:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-modern-history\/\">Stage 1 Modern History<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-tourism\/\">Stage 1 Tourism<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-business-innovation\/\">Stage 1 Business Innovation<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-legal-studies\/\">Stage 1 Legal Studies<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-1-society-and-culture\/\">Stage 1 Society &amp; Culture<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1824\" height=\"866\" src=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-17-at-11.58.23\u202fam.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7424\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Length:\u00a0One Semester Compulsory Students explore the Modern World and Australia 1918 to the present from the Year 10 History course in the Australian Curriculum.
