Please refer to the French Bilingual\/Binational Program outline.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Year 9 French language program builds on the foundations established in Years 7 and 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is based on concepts identified in the Australian Curriculum and aims to develop students\u2019 knowledge, skills and understandings as described in the achievement standard for years 9 and 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>communication skills&nbsp;<\/li><li>literacy skills in French and English&nbsp;<\/li><li>intercultural capabilities&nbsp;<\/li><li>understanding of, and respect for, diversity and difference, and openness to different experiences and perspectives&nbsp;<\/li><li>understanding and appreciation of how culture shapes world views and extends their understanding of themselves, their own heritage, values, culture and identity&nbsp;<\/li><li>critical and creative thinking.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Concepts studied in year 9 include: past, education and work, communication, entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong> Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the achievement standard for French years 9 and 10, as outlined in the Australian Curriculum: Languages. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The types of assessments include Text Analysis, Text Production, Interaction and Reflection.
