Students explore a range of prescribed themes and topics from the perspectives of diverse individuals and groups in the Greek-speaking communities and in their own community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three prescribed themes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The individual<\/li><li>The Greek-speaking communities<\/li><li>The changing world.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong> Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s performance standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Internal Assessment 70%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Folio: 40% (comprises three components, Text Analysis, Text Production and Interaction)<\/li><li>In-depth study: 30% (comprises three components (Oral Presentation, Text Production and English Reflection)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>External Assessment 30%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Oral examination: 8-10 minutes<\/li><li>Written examination: 130 minutes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Written examination has three sections&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Section 1: Listening and Responding<\/li><li>Section 2: Reading and Responding<\/li><li>Section 3: Writing in Modern Greek.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The timetable for continuers written examinations will be published during June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1198\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-22-at-4.14.38\u202fpm.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7726\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SACE credits:&nbsp;20 credits Length:&nbsp;Full Year Students develop an understanding of how Modern Greek is used effectively and appropriately by using various combinations of the skills of listening, speaking, viewing, reading, and writing for a range of purposes in a variety of contexts.
