Students learn how to cut, bend, shape and work different materials. They will also learn how to join materials through a variety of methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will be introduced to the design process where they will learn to develop a brief, generate ideas through research, and refine their designs through sketches, culminating in the production of unique products.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will work with a range of materials. These include: mild steel, tinplate, copper, brass, nickel silver, aluminium and silver.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Items manufactured over the course may include;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copper spoon<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copper rose<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Various jewellery items<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Candelabra<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum.
