Students will expand on their knowledge of the Australian Guide for Healthy Eating for teenagers and food nutrients. Students plan, prepare and serve foods which are appealing to adolescent tastes and reflect Australia\u2019s multicultural society. Students will cover units ranging from healthy lunches, nutrition for athletes and sustainability on food waste. Students will gain an understanding of how to analyse food recipes according to their nutritional value and how these nutrients can impact a person\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Food practicals could include;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blueberry Pancakes<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thai green <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chicken<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> curry<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lamb Kofta <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with Tzatziki and Pita<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homemade pizza<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chicken and tomato <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pasta<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> bake<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanakopita, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spinach and feta filo parcels<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creamy Para Primavera<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum.
