Students will investigate the role of families and cultures in supporting child development and relationships. The course covers various parenting styles and strategies to manage the personal, physical, and social changes children experience as they grow.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Key topics include understanding the stages of pregnancy, health and wellbeing during pregnancy, and the challenges and responsibilities associated with pregnancy. Students will also explore the nutritional needs of young children, including considerations for food allergies and intolerances. Additionally, the course includes an examination of toy safety standards, culminating in the construction of a toy suitable for preschool-aged children.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will develop skills in a variety of areas, including design, technologies, and general understanding. These skills will be applied through practical and theoretical tasks, enhancing creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Tasks include:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research tasks<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evaluation reports<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practical activities<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Robot Baby Experience: Engage in hands-on experience with a robot baby to understand infant care responsibilities<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum.
