Students engage in both individual and collaborative tasks that build their knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and workplace expectations. The course emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to respond to real world scenarios through both practical and research-based tasks.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students undertake a variety of practical experiences that reflect current food trends and industry standards, including contemporary dessert design, baking, and the preparation of modern meals. The course supports the development of foundational skills relevant to the hospitality industry, including time management, teamwork, and attention to detail in food service and presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Practicals may include:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salted Caramel Tart<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chicken Parmigiana with contemporary sides<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deconstructed Lemon Meringue <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Butter Chicken Curry<\/span><\/li><li>Orange and Almond Cake<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
