These themes link to all aspects of the course. Students explore a broad range of concepts, materials and techniques, helping them develop independence and confidence in articulating and expressing their own ideas in practical Artworks. Students research, understand and reflect upon visual art works in their cultural and historical contexts helping them to broaden their understanding of Visual Art evolution. The course includes the development of ideas, research, analysis and experimentation with media and techniques, resolution, production and a presentation of their works in an authentic exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 1 \u2013 Folio 40%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The folio focuses on research, developmental work and recording learning and visual thinking. Students show sources of inspiration and influences, as well as exploring a variety of ideas and concepts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The folio should be a total of 15 A3 pages or equivalent.<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 2 \u2013 Practical 30%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final practical could be a \u2018body of work\u2019 in a range of media including 2D or 3D. Technical skill and application of thinking and problem solving need to be evident.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A practitioner\u2019s statement of 250 words is required with this assessment task.<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 3 \u2013 Visual Study 30%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Visual Study is an independent study that involves research, exploring ideas, media, style and technique based on other artists and practitioners.<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting material should be 750 words or equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Special Requirements:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will be required to equip and present their work for the end of year exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students will be provided an Adobe Design Suite software subscription on their personal device for the duration of this subject.<\/p>\n<p><b>Leads to:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-visual-arts-art\/\">SACE Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Art<\/a> <\/strong>or<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-visual-arts-design\/\">SACE Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Design<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note: In Stage 2, Art and Design are a precluded SACE combination meaning you can only select to study one of these Visual Arts subjects.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Level: Stage 1 SACE Credits: 10 credits Length: One Semester Recommended background: Satisfactory completion of Year 10 Art or Year 10 Design.
