In addition, a knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Content:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Architectural Design, students present ideas through practical work using drawings, sketches, diagrams, models, photographs and\/or audio-visual techniques leading to resolved pieces. Students have opportunities to research, understand and reflect upon visual design works in their cultural and historical contexts. The course includes the development of a brief, research, ideas analysis and experimentation with media and techniques, resulting with a final practical piece.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 1 \u2013 Folio 40%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An A3 digital folder of work demonstrating understanding of the design process for ONE practical assignment. This includes a brief to demonstrate understanding of aesthetic qualities in architectural design. Ideation (development of several concepts in 2D and\/or 3D form) to illustrate a clear understanding of the set brief. These concepts are to be created using manual application and computer software.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 2 \u2013 Practical 30%<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final consists of two parts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Part A \u2013 detailed floor plan and street elevations using manual and computer software. Students will need to submit this section of work using an appropriate scale for model making.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Part B \u2013 A 3D model demonstrating the final design. This model should reflect a diversity of material which is within the capabilities of the individual student. Photographs should be taken to record the construction stage of this model.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A practitioner\u2019s statement of 250 words is required with this assessment task at the end of the design process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 3 \u2013 Visual Study 30%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0 <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A research-based presentation of techniques, processes, materials and analytical themes related to historical or contemporary practice.<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will be provided an Adobe Design Suite software subscription on their personal device for the duration of this subject.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Leads to:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> either <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-visual-arts-art\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SACE Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Art<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-visual-arts-design\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SACE Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Design<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Please note at Stage 2 you may only choose one Visual Arts subject)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stage 1 Visual Arts \u2013 Design B (Architectural Design) LEVEL: Stage 1 SACE Credits: 10 credits LENGTH: Semester 2 only Recommended background: Satisfactory completion of Year 10 Design or Year 10 Art.
