It emphasizes visual thinking, investigation and the ability to develop ideas and concepts. Students will refine technical skills acquired in previous years and produce imaginative solutions. An integral part of Visual Art is the documentation of visual thinking. Students learn to communicate personal ideas, beliefs, values, thoughts, feelings, concepts and opinions, provide observations of their lived or imagined experiences and represent these in visual form.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 1 &#8211; Folio(s) two Folios of 20xA3 pages, or one Folio of 40xA3 pages<\/b> <b>40%<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Folio focuses on final work development and includes evidence of progress in visual learning. This includes brainstorming, exploration , investigation, ideation and inspiration. Students are required to explore a variety of media, which should include manual and digital applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 2 &#8211; Practical resolution, (one final or a suite of works depending on the Folio\/s ) \u00a0 <\/b> <b>30%<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final practical could consist of a body of work created in 2D, 3D or\/and Digital Media. Students prepare a 500 word written practitioner\u2019s statement for each practical work, or one Practitioner&#8217;s Statement up to 1000 words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assessment Type 3 -Visual Study,\u00a0 30%<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Visual Study requires independent research, exploring ideas, media, style and technique based on other artists and practitioners. Supporting material should be 2000 words or equivalent, presented in digital format. Each semester, students receive progress grades of A+ to E- as part of the school\u2019s reporting policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assessment Type 1 and 2 are school-based assessments, moderated by SACE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assessment Type 3 is externally marked by SACE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Special Requirements:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will be required to equip and present their work for the end of year exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Level: Stage 2 SACE Credits: 20 credits Length: Full Year Please note: Stage 2 students may choose Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Art or Stage 2 Visual Arts \u2013 Design, but not both.
