Whatever instrument you play, you have the chance to showcase your unique musical voice and showcase your talent through polished performances. You\u2019ll dive deep into your chosen instrument or voice, learning how to refine your technique, shape your sound, and bring emotion and expression to every note. You\u2019ll explore a variety of musical styles, build confidence, and master the art of performing for an audience \u2013 both live and recorded.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout the year, you\u2019ll:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Build a performance program tailored to your strengths and musical interests<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop advanced skills in interpretation, expression, and stagecraft<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflect on your progress through recording, analysis, and discussion<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perform with confidence, passion, and professionalism<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students engage in a rigorous process of selecting repertoire, applying performance techniques, and interpreting musical works from diverse styles, genres, and cultures.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This subject can be taken in conjunction with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-solo-performance\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage 2 Music Ensemble Performance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and\/or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-explorations-20-sace-credits\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage 2 Music Explorations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Pathways:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This subject prepares students for further study in music at a tertiary level and supports career pathways in performance, composition, music education, and the broader creative arts industry. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/able.adelaide.edu.au\/music\/study#our-study-areas\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Study | Elder Conservatorium of Music | University of Adelaide<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Students provide evidence of their learning through three assessments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>School Based Assessments<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT 1:&nbsp; Performance (30%)<br>AT 2:&nbsp; Performance and Discussion (40%)<\/li><li><strong>External Assessment<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT 3:&nbsp; Performance Portfolio and Evaluation (30%)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
