You\u2019ll work closely with other performers to develop tight, expressive, and engaging group performances. Along the way, you\u2019ll refine your instrumental or vocal skills, deepen your understanding of musical styles and interpretation, and learn what it takes to contribute meaningfully to a shared sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the year, you\u2019ll:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Rehearse and perform regularly with your ensemble<br><\/li><li>Explore a range of musical styles, genres, and group dynamics<br><\/li><li>Strengthen your listening, timing, and communication skills<br><\/li><li>Reflect on your individual role and your group\u2019s performance development<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will participate in a formal school ensemble:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Concert Band 1<\/li><li>Stage Band<\/li><li>Orchestra<\/li><li>Vocal Ensemble<\/li><li>Percussion Ensemble<\/li><li>String Ensemble<\/li><li>Jazz Combo<\/li><li>Rock Band 1 or 2<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Music provides authentic experiences for students to practise and demonstrate the Unley High School values of respect, excellence, diversity and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This subject can be taken in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-solo-performance\/\">Stage 2 Music Solo Performance<\/a> and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/curric.uhs.sa.edu.au\/index.php\/stage-2-music-explorations-20-sace-credits\/\">Stage 2 Music Explorations<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pathways:<\/strong> This subject prepares students for further study in music at a tertiary level and supports career pathways in performance, composition, music education, and the broader creative arts industry. <a href=\"https:\/\/able.adelaide.edu.au\/music\/study#our-study-areas\">Study | Elder Conservatorium of Music | University of Adelaide<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong> Students provide evidence of their learning through three assessments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>School Based Assessments<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT1:&nbsp; Performance (30%)<br>AT 2:&nbsp; Performance and Discussion (40%)<\/li><li><strong>External Assessment<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>AT 3:&nbsp; Performance Portfolio and Evaluation(30%)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
