You are encouraged to develop your personal style through both practical and conceptual learning. Year 9 Visual Art focuses on building practical skills, problem-solving, and creative expression through independent and group projects.
You will explore both traditional and contemporary art practices, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and printmaking. You will investigate a range of cultural and historical art movements, learning how to analyse, critique, and reflect on your own work and the work of others.
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes. This includes assessment of achievement in exploring and responding, developing practices and skills, creating and making, presenting and performing.
