Year 7 at Unley High School provides students with a broad and engaging curriculum designed to support their transition into secondary school and help them explore a wide range of learning areas. All students study the core subjects of English (or English as an Additional Language), Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), and a Language other than English for the full year. Students can choose from Chinese, French, Greek or Italian, with French Bilingual also available for students enrolled in the French Bilingual Program. Students are supported through their Personal and Social Identity (PSI) group, where they complete their core learning with a consistent group of peers to help build strong relationships and a sense of belonging.
In addition to compulsory subjects, students select from a range of choice subjects across Health and Physical Education, The Arts, Design and Technology, and Music. Students may also access a range of special interest programs including Music, Special Interest Rowing, the Summit Program, and the French Bilingual Program. These programs provide opportunities for students to extend their learning, pursue areas of passion and interest, and engage in specialised pathways throughout their middle years at Unley High School.
