Year 10 at Unley High School provides students with increased choice, independence, and pathway planning as they prepare for senior school and future study or career opportunities. Alongside compulsory subjects including English (or English as an Additional Language), Mathematics, Science, History, and Exploring Identities and Futures (EIF), students select a range of elective subjects across Humanities, Languages, Health and Physical Education, Design and Technology, STEM, and The Arts. Students choose a total of 14 semesters of study, allowing them to personalise their learning program based on their interests, strengths, and future goals while continuing to develop important academic and personal capabilities.
Year 10 also offers a range of specialised programs and pathway opportunities to support student engagement and achievement. Students may participate in the Summit Program, French Bilingual Program, or Special Interest Rowing, while electives such as STEM, Outdoor Education, Café & Barista Skills, Gateway2Trades, Music, Digital Technologies, and Photography provide opportunities for extension, vocational learning, and future pathway exploration. Students continue within their PSI (Personal and Social Identity) groups while undertaking compulsory learning alongside a broader range of peers, supporting both academic growth and social development as they transition toward Stage 1 and Stage 2 studies.
