Content:
This course focuses on developing performance skills and presenting plays to audiences. Areas of study may include Stanislavski and Naturalistic Theatre, Commedia Dell’Arte, Filmmaking, and Shakespeare and Elizabethan Theatre. Live theatre performance attendance may occur.
Assessment:
Student performance will be determined according to the subject Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
Assessment tasks include:
- Participation in performances, both on and off stage
- Responding to Drama
- Character and text analysis
- Extended improvised performances
- Collaboration with classmates
- Self-devised monologue
- Script writing
- Reflection on the creative process
