LENGTH: One Semester or a Full Year (Full Year recommended for students looking to study drama through to Year 12)
Love performing, creating, and working with others? Stage 1 Drama is your chance to build confidence, unleash your creativity, and bring stories to life on stage.
Through workshops, incursions and excursions, and the exploration of plays and films, you’ll discover how theatre works from the inside out. Develop your acting, performance, and stagecraft skills while learning how to analyse and evaluate dramatic works like a theatre professional.
You’ll collaborate with classmates to create original performances, experiment with different dramatic styles, and develop practical skills that can be applied both on and off the stage. The highlight of the course is a full-class production performed for a live audience in a real theatre environment, giving you the authentic experience of being part of a professional production.
Whether you dream of performing under the spotlight or enjoy working behind the scenes, Stage 1 Drama offers a creative, challenging, and rewarding experience.
