Content:

Students develop an understanding of how Modern Greek used effectively and appropriately by using various combinations of the skills of listening, speaking, viewing, reading, and writing for a range of purposes in a variety of contexts. Students explore a range of prescribed themes and topics from the perspectives of diverse individuals and groups in the Greek-speaking communities and in their own community.

The three prescribed themes include:

  • The individual
  • The Greek-speaking communities
  • The changing world.

Assessment:

Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.

Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

  • Interaction
  • Text production
  • Text analysis
  • Investigation (comprises two components: an oral/written/multimodal response in Modern Greek and a reflective response in English).
