Content:
Students will develop skills in working with fabrics and will use the design process to construct projects of their own design. Students will experience a range of digital technologies to assist their design development and explore a range of natural ways to dye their products. Projects could include:
- Drawstring bag
- Up-cycling
- Hoodie
- Designing a futuristic garment
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
Additionally, students will be assessed on:
- Safe working processes
- Design process understanding
- Use of technologies, sewing machines, specialty apps
- Project design and completion
Students are responsible for purchasing the fabric and notion requirements for the projects.
