Create Your Own Style!

In this hands-on subject, you’ll learn how to work with different fabrics and use the design process to bring your own clothing and accessory ideas to life.You’ll also discover natural ways to dye your fabrics and learn how to make your creations both stylish and sustainable.

Projects may include:

  • A custom drawstring bag
  • Up-cycled fashion (turn something old into something awesome)
  • Making your own hoodie
  • Your own beanie

Assessment:

You’ll be marked using the Australian Curriculum standards (Grades A–E), based on:

  • Safe and responsible use of tools and material
  • Understanding and applying the design process
  • Using technology and sewing equipment effectively
  • Creativity and quality of your finished projects

Please Note: You’ll need to buy your own fabric and materials for your projects—this means you can choose colours and patterns that suit your personal style.
