Recommended background: Stage 1 Fashion Design Studio preferred but not essential.

Content:

In Fashion Design students express their ideas through the construction of 2 projects using fabric. Student designs are resolved from the use of commercial pattern blocks, where they will develop personalised patterns for their final product. Students have opportunities to research, understand and reflect on their design and construction work, in a fashion trend context. The course includes the development of a brief, research, ideas (concepts) analysis and experimentation with ideas, techniques, finishing with a toile (practice garment) and their final garment. 

Assessment:

Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.

Assessment Type 3:  Resources Study – 30%

Special Requirements:

Students are responsible for purchasing the fabric and notion requirements for the garments.
