Content:
Students will develop knowledge, skills and understanding to implement the use of an extensive range of photographic equipment, apply strategies for successful workflow and manipulation of DSLR images. They will also expand their concepts of the role of Photography in society and work to industry specifications.
Students will have to ability to develop their own areas of photographic focus and apply their ideas working across natural and/or studio lighting setups, develop advanced skills in coordinating various lighting styles and compositional setups, and control required camera settings and effects using a range of industry standard photographic equipment and software.
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.

Specialised Skills Tasks: Theme, Creative Photography Techniques
Design Process and Solution: Students create their own design brief in relation to an area of photography that interests them. They will document stages of investigation, planning and evaluation of images and products that showcase creative photographic techniques, culminating in the production of a solution/product in response to their brief. Full cost of product/products is dependent on the design and students are expected to arrange these materials themselves.
Resource Study: Students investigate and analyse the functional characteristics and properties of two or more materials or components they are considering for use in the creation of their solution/product. Students investigate and analyse ethical, legal, economic and/or sustainability issues related to their solution/product.
Special Requirements:
It is beneficial for students to have their own DSLR, but school ones are provided. It is also highly recommended that students provide their own SD card.
Students will be provided an Adobe Design Suite software subscription on their personal device for the duration of this subject.
