Level: Year 10
Length: One Semester
Content:
Students will develop their coding skills using JavaScript, applying their knowledge to create digital solutions with industry-standard software. In addition to JavaScript, they will gain expertise in Adobe Animate and Adobe Dreamweaver, two powerful tools for digital content creation.
With Adobe Animate, students will design interactive media such as cartoons, banners, games, and applications, ready for publication across various platforms including web, video, social media, and mobile devices. They will integrate JavaScript into these projects to enhance interactivity.
Using Adobe Dreamweaver, students will build and publish interactive websites and web pages, incorporating HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript for dynamic and responsive designs.
Through algorithm design, students will generate outputs by working with programming fundamentals such as variables, expressions, and input/output commands. They will develop a solid understanding of sequencing, selection, and iteration—essential constructs in coding.
Finally, students will test and evaluate their digital solutions using fundamental testing techniques, ensuring their work effectively meets the needs of its intended users.
Software: Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate
Scripting Language: JavaScript
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
Assessment is drawn from assignments and digital solutions.
Students will be provided an Adobe Design Suite software subscription on their personal device for the duration of this subject.
