Content:

This course develops skills learned in year 7 Drama and includes:

  • The elements of Drama – vocal expression, characterisation, movement
  • Improvisation
  • Script interpretation
  • Audience skills
  • Features of theatres and the stage
  • Critical analysis
  • Comedy
  • Ancient Greek Theatre

Students undertake reflective writing on class work and critical writing on the work of others using theatre terminology.

Assessment:

Student performance will be determined according to the subject Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.

Assessment tasks include:

  • Performances
  • Peer assessment
  • Critical responses
  • Reflective reports
