‘Life’s more fun when you perform it.’
Year 8 Drama will see you analysing and applying the elements of drama and dramatic conventions through making and responding. You will apply skills and understanding through independently and collaboratively devising performances, and demonstrating knowledge and understanding through responding from creator, performer, and audience viewpoints. Through working in small and large groups, you will continue to develop your understanding of the dramatic process while building confidence in public speaking and teamwork. Through writing reviews, we will evaluate and analyse the elements of a performance, developing your literary skills. Through this course you will explore historical and cultural performance conventions, using these in your own dramatic work.
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.This includes assessment of achievement in exploring and responding, developing practices and skills, creating and making, presenting and performing.
