Content:
Students develop an understanding of how French is used effectively and appropriately by using various combinations of the skills of listening, speaking, viewing, reading, and writing for a range of purposes in a variety of contexts. Students explore a range of prescribed themes and topics from the perspectives of diverse individuals and groups in the French-speaking communities and in their own community.
The three prescribed themes include:
- The individual
- The French-speaking communities
- The changing world.
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
- Interaction
- Text production
- Text analysis
Investigation (comprises two components: an oral/written/multimodal response in French and a reflective response in English)
