Students who choose Stage 1 Fitness cannot choose Stage 1 PE A or B

Recommended background: An interest in personal improvement in fitness

Content:

This subject is studied through Stage 1 Integrated Learning. Students work collaboratively and individually to develop and apply knowledge, concepts and skills related to personal and group fitness. They develop and reflect on capabilities and their own progress in their learning.

Students will:

  • Develop knowledge of fitness and training
  • Participate in fitness sessions with and without equipment
  • Plan, implement and reflect on personal and group fitness training programs
  • Work collaboratively to deliver fitness sessions to peers and groups of peers
  • Reflect on their learning related to the subject
  • Reflect on the development of selected capabilities 

Assessment:

  • 1x Personal Venture: Personal fitness plan (40%)
  • 1x Practical Exploration: Peer fitness session (30%)
  • 1x Connections Task: Group fitness presentation (30%)

Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
